Abstract

Second Lieutenant Diane Leimbach graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2011 with a bachelor’s in American History. The History Department recognized Diane with the General of the Army Omar N. Bradley Award for excellence in historical research for this work, which she wrote as a senior thesis under the guidance of Professor Steve Waddell. She is now serving as an intelligence officer in the 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division at Ft. Riley, Kansas.
