Evan Stark is a senior at Washington University in St. Louis studying History, Archaeology, and Operations and Supply Chain Management. He wrote this paper in the spring of 2015 for the history seminar: The Founding Fathers' Government in an Electronic Age, taught by Professor Peter Kastor. Evan became interested in the Legion of the United States and the early U.S. Army as a research assistant working on a Professor Kastor's "Creating a Federal Government" project.
