Abstract

Erick Conrad is a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities where he studied history and Arabic. He wrote this paper during his final semester in spring 2015. Before attending the University of Minnesota, he went to school at Black River Falls High School in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. Erick would like to acknowledge Dr. Bernard Bachrach for sparking his interest in the subject matter, Dr. Lorcin for her guidance on the project, and his peer Jordan Jennings for her keen editing eye.
