Beam Switching and Steering in VCSEL-Based Photonic Crystal Coupled Heterostructures
We demonstrate electrically controlled beam switching and steering in separate-contact photonic crystal heterostructures implemented with arrays of VCSELs. Switching from mutually incoherent to coherent operation is accompanied by wavelength tuning of the array elements.
